I've tested it on vocals so far and it sounds nice with 'HEAT' at 0 (left-most position), and 'MIX' between 8 and 9 o'clock. Adds weight and density. What about you? I guess it sounds cool on guitars and basses, have you tried it on those? I did a quick test, it's not very subtle!
But that's to be expected from SoundToys. I briefly tried it on random tracks. My first impression of it reminded me of Massey TapeHead on bright mode when pushed a bit too hard. Different type of saturation but the aggressive upper mids of Little Radiator made me think of that.
For vocals I could go either really gentle, like Heat at 0-1 and mix at 5, or more extreme - pad on heat at 9, mix at 2. It might end up being something I do in parallel, pushing it hard and blending in along with stereo widening maybe.
Same goes for guitars. For distorted guitars it might be too much, I'd likely use it with MS compression or something blended in just to get them to bite more. I don't think I'll use it on bass, I'm used RC-Tube at 10 drive on my last mix and really liked what it did. I don't have the full VCC or Nebula.
What the heck is this bizness? I'm not using a Mac but all I can confirm to you is that I've tried to Duplicate your situation under Win7 and everything is working Perfectly. I did resized the Fx Window in every way possible and there is NO Pixel problem etc. Can you maybe double check and see if you're using in your Screen Res 24 bit or 32 bit? But however your issue ain't happening here I can confirm.
Maybe other folks under Mac could double check and if proven that others have the same issue as you, I can report it to Soundtoys ASAP. They were disabled at the time of this licecap. This has happened as far back as I can remember. Since I first had a soundtoys plugin. *edit* Enabling them both makes sure it's at least the correct size upon loading it - but I still don't want it to resize when I resize the FX window.
I just want it to be it's own static size. Other soundtoys plugins do this for me too. I use both up and down, it seems to just work better with all plugins but it's annoying because you have to chase the FX window around when you change plugins. Dirt showdown steam serial keygen crack 2017. Maybe we should contact ST support?
Hopefully they won't tell us not to use a free DAW;). Other soundtoys plugins do this for me too. I use both up and down, it seems to just work better with all plugins but it's annoying because you have to chase the FX window around when you change plugins. Maybe we should contact ST support?
Hopefully they won't tell us not to use a free DAW;) Indeed I think this must be reported to Soundtoys Team and I don't see why they would 'they won't tell us not to use a free DAW'???? Can you clarify a bit. As I mentioned above, this specific Issue does NOT happen under Reaper running in Windows 7 at least and never had any problem such using Soundotys plugins neither under Win Xp. If you guys want I can report this to the Team & i'm sure they will fix it because either a plugin is Free or Not, they Treat each the same to reach no bug at their highest standard. That is, of course, if you have to own or purchase an iLok to use it, then it is not free.
I've seen this sort of nonsense before. I don't allow dongles, locks, iLoks, handcuffs, secret handshakes or any sort of ridiculous crud to come anywhere near my computer or my projects. I've thoroughly had it with that whole approach. In fact, if any product takes more than 10 or 15 minutes to register on a company's website, it's very unlikely I would buy it.
There's plenty of other software and gear available out there that isn't full of this idiocy. Recently, Steinberg offered what they called a 'free trial' of Cubase 6. At the very bottom, in the finer print, they then informed us that you still had to buy a $29.95 dongle and go through the stupid BS of licensing the thing -- all for the 'free' 30-day trial. Free is either free -- or it isn't.
Pull that crap in a bar or pub and they'll take you out back with a baseball bat. Just because it's some self-glorified business on the net doesn't somehow make it okay.
Of course it wasn't the only reason (lousy customer support and relations, etc., too), but Steinberg lost any future business from me and a handful of others when they went dongle. And their eLicenser before that sucked, too. Funny, but for all their anal security efforts there is no shortage of cracked versions all over the net. Think about it -- the company assumes that all users are dishonest and will give away copies to all their friends. So, really, an iLok only hurts or harasses honest customers. Too bad for Soundtoys.
