He is underrated. One of the best vibratos, I've ever heard. If you've recorded any Trower, I'd love to hear it.!!! Take care.!!! Re: Backing Tracks - Download Site by on 2008-03-04 07: I usually get the 'crap' midi files and import them into my DAW's midi editor (Magix Music Studio), where I can change and assign 'real' drum and bass guitar sounds - even symphony, to the tracks to make really good backing tracks.I can post a few, if you want? They're Metallica and Bon Jovi. I also create my own backing tracks for songs - including The Beautiful South, Natalie Imbruglia, some German bands etc etc.

Used the stock Plexi lead, doubled in some places with a clean and chorused pair. Added a bit of flange at the end to give it a cool stereo feel.
Vocals are using a stock reverb tone on the X3L. Pretty much everything is using stock tones with a wah on the leads. I have to say the the X3L is wonderful. If I had the chops and the recording talent I believe that I could produce a professional quality recording in my den with just my computer and cheap equipment. In any event I am amazed at the sounds I can capture with what I have for equipment. The X3L has become the missing link for me.:-) L. Re: Backing Tracks - Download Site by on 2008-03-12 01: I'm curious if anyone has ever tried using 'no fail' cheats on Guitar Hero or Rock Band to output their game console audio to a recording unit and capture original master backing tracks?
I believe both games have cheats which enable modes in which you can never fail a song. It seems to me that if you enable just such a cheat you could select a song and not play a single note, thus capturing everything but the lead guitar (or with Rock Band you can probably eliminate any combination of vocals / drums / guitar / bass). I've only played these games a few times (don't own a console myself) so I don't know if there's any extra audio that gets mixed in (crowd booing or other game effects) while you're playing-but-not-hitting-any-notes. But it seems worth a shot.
I know Rock Band in particular with all of their downloadable content has tons of mastered tracks from the original artists (and GH3 probably does as well). Re: Backing Tracks - Download Site by on 2008-03-12 08: I have both GH3 and Rock Band for Xbox360 (which has a failure rate of 30% or more, compared the the X3's 1%). I haven't tried the no-fail mode/cheat, but I believe: - there is constant crowd noise - when you miss a note, a 'ker-chunk' sound like a hammer on an anvil masks over the guitar note so you can't hear the ones you don't play. I think this would still be the case in no-fail mode. I think it's the same in Training Mode. You can get GH3 soundtracks, but at $13 for 11 songs, it's not cheap. These CDs also include new songs that can be played in GH3.
